WATCH: Governor-Elect Brian Kemp: ‘Stand With Me In The Days Ahead’
Georgia Governor-Elect Brian Kemp is asking all Georgians to stand together in this time of unprecedented political tumult, urging all good-minded people to put the divisive politics of the 2018 election in the past.
“The election is over and hardworking Georgians are ready to move forward. We can no longer dwell on the divisive politics of the past but must focus on Georgia’s bright and promising future,” Kemp stated Saturday after Stacey Abrams’ speech last night in which Abrams did not formally concede, because she is a sore loser, according to observers including a top Georgia tea party leader who denounced Abrams’ shameful defeat comments.
But Kemp is staying optimistic and looking forward, to new horizons leading the Republican South with fellow governor’s race clear winner Ron DeSantis, and to working with President Trump to rebuild America’s destiny.
“Under the leadership of Governors Perdue and Deal, our state has experienced unmatched growth and prosperity. We will work diligently in the transition process to build on their accomplishments and keep Georgia moving in the right direction,” Kemp said.

“I humbly ask for citizens of our great state to stand with me in the days ahead. Together, we will realize the opportunities and tackle the challenges to come. We will be a state that puts hardworking Georgians — no matter their zip code or political preference — first!” Kemp wrote.
