Something We Can Agree on. Michael Wolff: ‘I’m Barely a Journalist’
Michael Wolff, the Trump-hating journalist who made very questionable claims about the White House with little proof, doesn’t really consider himself a journalist. Talking to The Vassar Political Review, Wolff conceded, “I’m not a political journalist. I’m not, frankly, all that much interested in politics. I’m a writer. I’m barely a journalist, actually.”
Wolff came off as sounding somewhat schizophrenic in tone. Right after the above statement, he bragged of the various topics he’d written of: “I’m probably the most prolific journalist in the country. You know, millions upon millions upon millions of words.”
Perhaps his most incredible assertion came when Wolff claimed to be non-political:
I don’t go into this to change people’s minds. I’m not proselytizing this for anyone. I’m not a political person. I’m not campaigning. I don’t really care. All I want [people] to do is see this. But, I would disagree that it hasn’t changed people’s minds. I think it’s clarified things for people. I think that they were all kind of like ‘what is going on here, this does not make any sense,’ and I’ve made sense out of this.
He’s not a political person? this is the same guy that forwarded the idea that Trump is a “child,” a “moron” and an "idiot." He told NBC that “100 percent of the people around him” question the President’s intelligence.
One hundred percent? In January, Wolff bragged that his book “will finally end... this presidency.” That’s not a political person?
As for not having an agenda, this is the same guy who smeared UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and spread rumors of an affair with Trump.
In the Vassar interview, editor Andrew Solender asked Wolff this question:
Solender: Is everything in the book 100% true?
Wolff: I don’t exactly know what that question means. Do I trust everything in the book? Yes.
So, on Wolff’s assertion that he’s “barely a journalist,” perhaps conservatives have found a point of agreement.
