Ruhle Suggests 'Serious Hypocrisy' in Banning Guns from Pence Speech

On Monday morning, MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle read a brief suggesting "serious hypocrisy" on the part of the NRA for barring guns from a speech by Vice President Mike Pence because the pro-gun group generally supports allowing law-abiding citizens to bring guns into most public places.

It seemed to be lost on the MSNBC host that the the Secret Service will be providing security for the event, so the normal arguments for allowing the average person to be armed in for self-defense are not as relevant.

At about 9:30 a.m. Eastern during her hour of hosting MSNBC Live solo, Ruhle introduced the brief; "And how about this story? No guns will be allowed in the arena when Vice President Mike Pence speaks at the NRA's annual conference this week."

She then added: "Gun control advocates are claiming some serious hypocrisy, pointing to the NRA's long history of arguing that allowing guns in public spaces make people safer."

The liberal MSNBC host has a history of going after the NRA and the gun industry -- including just last week when she and sometimes co-host Ali Velshi fretted over how many people support the pro-gun group, and, last month, when the two promoted a website that helps people boycott companies that do business with the gun industry.
