Cody Wilson Defies Court Order, Begins Selling Firearm CAD Files for 3-D Printing

A Texas man, who was ordered by a federal judge not to sell his files for 3-D printed guns online, has defied that order by selling blueprints on his website.

“Cody Wilson said at a news conference on Tuesday that he’ll make the plans available to anyone who wants them at any price,” according to Fox News. “He said sales started Tuesday morning and that he’d already gotten nearly 400 orders.”

A federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle extended a ban on the sale of blueprints for 3-D weaponry Monday.

But Wilson does not plan to comply with the tyrannical order.

“Anyone who wants to get these files is going to get them,” he said. “They can name their own price.”

Wilson runs a non-profit called Defense Distributed and had planned on distributing blueprints for 3-D printed firearms on August 1 when U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik halted the release. He has been in a multi-year battle with the federal government.

“This is a direct action on behalf of the Obama administration to control public speech about guns on the Internet,” Wilson told Fox News. “They cynically redefine any posting of any technical data to be an ‘export,’ and thereby claim that it isn’t speech. It’s surreal and they’re getting away with it.”

You can purchase the files ranging from an AR-15 to Wilson’s original custom pistol named The Liberator at www.defcad.com.
