Trump Moves Needle With Republican Primary Endorsees
President Donald J. Trump’s endorsees from Tuesday’s primary and special election races outperformed their expectations, both winning by thin margins against their opponents.
In the most anticipated race of the night, Troy Balderson, a Republican from Ohio won the special election for Ohio’s 12th Congressional District, edging out Democrat Danny O’Connor.
“When I decided to go to Ohio for Troy Balderson, he was down in early voting 64 to 36,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “That was not good. After my speech on Saturday night, there was a big turn for the better. Now Troy wins a great victory during a very tough time of the year for voting. He will win BIG in Nov.”

Balderson and O’Connor will square off in the general election on November 6 to see who will permanently keep the seat.
The Democrats are billing a close loss in Ohio 12 as a victory, considering that it has been Republican-held for more than 35 years. But O’Connor outspent Balderson four to one in voter contact, meaning television, radio, and digital media ads. Balderson spent most of his money fundraising, meaning he should be locked and loaded for November.
In Kansas, it appears that Republican Secretary of State Kris Kobach, known for his tough stance on illegal immigration, has eeked out a primary win against incumbent Gov. Jeff Coyler. The race is still listed as “too close to call.”
Trump endorsed Kobach on Monday.
“Kris Kobach, a strong and early supporter of mine, is running for Governor of the Great State of Kansas,” Trump wrote. “He is a fantastic guy who loves his State and our Country – he will be a GREAT Governor and has my full & total Endorsement! Strong on Crime, Border & Military. VOTE TUESDAY!”

Trump also endorsed Republican John James, who won U.S Senate his primary in Michigan and will face incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) in the general election, and Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette who won the Republican gubernatorial primary.
Finally, Trump-endorsed Josh Hawley mopped the floor with the rest of the Republican candidates in the U.S. Senate Primary in Missouri. He will face incumbent Clare McCaskill (D-MO) in November.
