WATCH: Maxine Waters: “Trump Will Be Impeached!” If Democrats Take Over Congress

On Sunday, Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters (Calif.) said that President Trump “will be impeached” and condemned her party for not concentrating on Trump’s removal from office as a “central issue” when making their electoral case to the American public.

“I believe, of course, that this president can be impeached, will be impeached, and certainly has committed the high crimes and misdemeanors that is [sic] identified by the Constitution as such that would qualify him for impeachment,” Waters said on MSNBC.

Waters released a statement last week that said the new developments in the Cohen and Manafort cases would lead to “real articles of impeachment” and told MSNBC that the public is beginning to realize there is “something real about all of this.”

Waters has become the mouthpiece of the Democratic party calling not only for Trump’s impeachment (“IMPEACH 45”), for over a year now, but also encouraging her constituents to harass those in the Trump administration, and supporters of Trump.

Waters even took a shot at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) along with other leading Democrats that have resisted the threat of impeachment while seeking to take the House in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections.

“I’ve been talking about impeachment for a long time,” Waters said. “My party has not made this their central issue. They have insisted they need to talk about the issues that they believe are central to the concern of the American people … I’ve been saying we can walk and chew gum at the same time. There is no reason why we shouldn’t talk about those issues, but allow the American people to understand that we know something is going on.”

“Don’t forget, this president said he could stand on Fifth Avenue and shoot down Fifth Avenue and I guess shoot somebody and still get away with it,” Waters added. “So all I’m saying is that I think that we have a responsibility to talk about what is going on, to explain what impeachment is, and to see how the discussion goes.”
