Vatican Cedes Moral Authority to Chinese Government

1024px Flag of the Vatican City.svgPresident Trump has declared in various contexts and countries that in America, "We don't worship government. We worship God." Yet the Roman Catholic Church is now relinquishing its moral authority to the Chinese government. In particular, the Vatican now recognizes the legitimacy of bishops appointed by Chinese government officials.

Speaking to justify the deal, Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, Pope Francis's chosen head of the Pontifical Academies for Science and Social Sciences, has reasoned that the Chinese government is "best [at] implementing the social doctrine of the Church," according to LifeSiteNews

On the other hand, Catholic Cardinal Joseph Zen of Hong Kong said the Church's deal was an "incredible betrayal" and accused the Vatican of "giving the flock into the mouths of the wolves," according to Reuters.

This is a complex issue, threads of which include abortion, gendercide, forced sterialization vis-à-vis population control and climate change. Indeed Francis's Vatican has become a globalist vangard for the climate change cause. Interestingly climate change and abortion (useful in population control) are issues deemed woven of the same cloth according to many Francis aficionados.

Alan Keyes, former Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations under President Ronald Reagan, tries to untangle some of the threads in “Does China’s Abortion-Mad Government Serve The Common Good?” recently published by Church Militant. Keyes refers to Pope Pope Paul VI "who forewarned us in the encyclical Humane Vitae [Of Human Life] of the danger of ceding moral and spiritual authority to godless, or anti-Christ governments like that of China."

In the 1968 encyclical, Pope Paul IV wrote: "Careful consideration should be given to the danger of . . . power passing into the hands of those public authorities who care little for the precepts of moral law." "Such are the authorities of the Communist Chinese government," says Keyes.
