Axelrod Flashback: ‘In Chicago, There Was An Old Tradition Of Throwing A Brick Through Your Own Campaign Office Window’

In 2010 a former high-level official for President Barack H. Obama admitted that a Chicago tactic used for political gain was to false-flag their opponents and subsequently blame opponents for violence.

“In Chicago, there was an old tradition of throwing a brick through your own campaign office window, and then calling a press conference to say that you’ve been attacked,” David Axelrod said in an interview with NPR.

A longtime political huckster, Axelrod defended Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley – a client of his – in a 2005 Chicago Tribune op-ed after two top Daley officials were arrested for what prosecutors called “pervasive fraud” in City Hall.

Axelrod is currently the director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago and is a Senior Political Commentator for CNN. He worked as the Chief Strategist for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, and was a Senior Advisor to the 44th president.
