CENSORSHIP: LifeSite Is Targeted By Convicted Sex Offender

The website LifeSiteNews.com, “a non-profit Internet service dedicated to issues of culture, life and family,” that often covers pro-family and pro-life news purposely ignored by mainstream media, received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST on Saturday from their web-hosting company alerting them they would be taking the site down within 12 hours, possibly sooner.

The email read: “we are implementing our ‘SUSPENSION OF SERVICES’ clause…and giving you 12 hours notice to move your web site operations off of our servers…”

The site received no forewarning about the decision whatsoever.

The company told LifeSite it is acting in response to a months-long campaign of complaints against the site and by Adam Flanders. Flanders is a convicted sex abuser and homosexual activist who is furious over reports exposing him and his past were covered on LifeSiteNews.com.

As LifeSite recently reported, he has already successfully taken down other pro-family websites by targeting their server companies.

From the LifeSiteNews.com September 18th, 2018 article by Doug Mainwaring, “Convicted gay sex offender uses scare tactics to shut down website on truth about homosexuality”:

“The entire website for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) was shut down for more than two weeks beginning August 24 after a convicted homosexual sex offender, Adam Flanders, threatened a lawsuit against FirstLight Fiber, the Internet Service Provider (ISP) for AFTAH’s web host company. Flanders claimed his mugshot photo from a 2006 assault arrest against a minor boy was “copyrighted” material.

“Flanders, a homosexual activist, is a registered sex offender in both Maine and California, where he now lives,” explained Peter LaBarbera, founder of AFTAH and a former LifeSiteNews writer. “He pleaded guilty in 2008 to ‘Sexual Abuse of a Minor’ involving a boy aged 14 or 15. He also admitted to engaging in homosexual sex with his then-14-year-old ‘boyfriend’ when he (Flanders) was 18 – in a 2007 public letterexposing a Maine ‘gay youth’ club. Later, Flanders sought to retract the letter and demanded that websites take it down.”

LaBarbera said that Flanders has a long history of making “litigious and mendacious threats containing absurd, exaggerated and sometimes nonsensical claims against pro-family leaders and websites that have exposed his past criminal offenses and other actions.”

“AFTAH will not take it down because it is obviously in the public domain and not ‘owned’ by Flanders,” said LaBarbera, who notes that mugshots are routinely used in news stories and political ads.”

Flanders’ most recent complaint is focused on the absurd allegation that LifeSite  “has been implicated in a violent hate crime against a gay man and Catholic church,” and that we “instigated property damage and a physical assault.”

The web developer for LifeSiteNews.com is scrambling to set up a possibly-needed temporary solution if something is to happen to the original site, as a backup.

The site says they plan to fight these attacks, which will carry “significant legal costs.”

LifeSite said they are committed to continue reporting on Flanders as well as the entire anti-freedom homosexualist lobby, and asked it readers on Saturday to continue to pray that the issue is resolved quickly and smoothly.
