Cotton: Chuck Schumer Behind Blasey Ford Letter Leak
A Republican Senator from Arkansas is pointing fingers at a high level Democrat for the leak of Christine Blasey Ford’s confidential letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), which ended up in the hands of the press.
“Hugh, I believe the Schumer political operation was behind this from the very beginning,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). “We learned last week that a woman named Monica McLean was Ms. Ford’s roommate, and she was one of the so-called beach friends who encouraged Ms. Ford to go to Dianne Feinstein and the partisan Democrats on the Judiciary Committee. Well, it just turns out, it just so happens that Monica McLean worked for a Preet Bharara, the former U.S. Attorney in Manhattan, now a virulent anti-Trump critic on television and former counsel to Chuck Schumer.”
Schumer, a New York Democrat, is the Senate Minority Leader. Cotton placed the blame on Schumer during an appearance on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show on Tuesday.
Ford originally sent a letter alleging sexual misconduct on the part of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh to her congressional representative, Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), who turned it over to Feinstein.

Feinstein claimed that neither she, nor any member of her office, leaked Ford’s letter to the press. The letter was held in secret for months by Feinstein’s office until it appeared that Kavanaugh would sail through is confirmation process with ease. Only then was the letter leaked, leading to a charade unparalleled by any other in Supreme Court nomination history.
Predictably, the Democrats are not talking. Leaking the letter to the press is a horrible optic, as it would confirm the suspicions that Ford’s allegations were made public for political purposes.
