FLASHBACK: NeoCon Nikki Begged U.N. for War With North Korea
Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley begged the United Nations to for approval to strike North Korea preemptively in 2017, before President Donald J. Trump held peace talks and struck a disarmament deal with the hermit kingdom.
“To the members of the Security Council, I must say: enough is enough,” Haley told the United Nations after reports of a North Korean missile test in August, 2017.
“We have taken an incremental approach, and despite the best of intentions, it has not worked,” she said. “Members of this council will no doubt urge negotiations and a return to talks. But as I have just outlined, we have engaged in numerous direct and multi-lateral talks with the North Korean regime, and time after time they have not worked.”
Trump has contradicted this narrative several times, and said at a rally in Kansas on Saturday that no one had ever bothered to try to engage the North Koreans. Trump proceeded to make peace talks look easy, garnering a promise from King Jong-un to denuclearize after hitting the country with strict economic sanctions.

“The time for half-measures in the Security Council is over,” Haley continued. “The time has come to exhaust all of our diplomatic means before it’s too late.”
“Diplomatic means” is NeoCon code for “bomb the hell out of them,” which Haley would have gladly done to please her military industrial complex friends, but for Trump’s restraint.
Americans are tired of unnecessary foreign wars. Wherever she lands after resigning from her position as U.N. Ambassador Tuesday, it is imperative that Americans understand that she has always been pro-war.
