IRONY: Sharia-Supporting Linda Sarsour Leads Women’s March “Vigil” Opposing Anti-Semitism

Can someone explain how this works? In the wake of the Pennsylvania synagogue shooting on Sunday, leaders of The Women’s March, who have openly embraced anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, held a “vigil” outside the White House to protest Antisemitism.

The “vigil” was led by none other than Linda Sarsour, proud supporter of anti-Semite Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrkhan.

The Women’s March (@womensmarch) tweeted on Sunday:

“Today we are turning our grief to action with @jewishaction to send a clear message that these anti-semitic and xenophobic attacks can never happen again.
If you’re not in DC, tune in around 3pm to our Facebook page to watch and share the livestream. http://www.facebook.com/womensmarchonwash

It’s interesting how they have tried to group “anti-Semitism” in with “xenophobia” trying to connect violence against the Jewish people with a broader campaign against those opposing immigration.

In a subsequent tweet, you can clearly see Linda Sarsour addressing the crowd:

“We’ve gathered outside the with and communities of faith to echo the call: . Tune into the livestream here:

The organization Jewish Action is the same group who called President Trump to stay away from any memorial service being held for victims of the Pittsburgh shooting until he denounced white supremacy.

Sarsour and other Women’s March leaders Carmen Perez and Tamkia Mallory, all consider arguably the nation’s most public anti-Semite, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan their friend. Farrakhan just last week referred to Jews as “termites” who needed to be exterminated.

MINISTER FARRAKHAN (@LouisFarrakhan) tweeted:

“I’m not an anti-Semite. I’m anti-Termite.”

What you don’t hear is The Women’s March denouncing Farrakhan or their relationship with the racist and anti-Semite.

Although Sarsour, and Perez, and Mallory have all been involved with the Nation of Islam since 2015, Mallory is the most closely connected of the three, appearing at his Nation of Islam mosque as well as attending his “symposiums” where his hatred of the Jewish people is preached openly.

Mallory also attended Farrakhan’s recent “Savior’s Day” celebration where he told his audience, “White folks are going down, and Satan is going down, and Farrakhan by God’s grace has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew — and I’m here to say, your time is up.”

Sarsour and Perez both attended the Nation of Islam rally in 2015, where Sarsour once again addressed the crowd.

Linda Sarsour – #JusticeOrElse Speech

"We are one sister's and brother's and our liberation is bound up together. The same people who justify the massacres of Palestinian people and call it collateral damage are the same people who justify the murder of young Black men and women. The same people who want to deport millions of undocumented immigrants are the same people hate Muslims and want to take our right to worship freely in this country. That common enemy sisters and brothers is #WhiteSupremacy, let's call it what it is." – Linda Sarsour at the #JusticeOrElse march on the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March

When the Women’s March was told it needed to distance itself from the “controversial” leader, Perez defended Farrakhan.

“In regards to Minister Farrakhan, I think that is a distraction,” Perez told Refinery29 when they asked why the Women’s March didn’t denounce Farrakhan’s comments outright. “People need to understand the significant contributions that these individuals have made to Black and Brown people. There are no perfect leaders.”

None of the Women’s March leaders have made much effort to avoid Farrakhan, Mallory has even defended him in tweets in the past.

Tamika D. Mallory (@TamikaDMallory) tweeted back in March of her friend, “If your leader does not have the same enemies as Jesus, they may not be THE leader! Study the Bible and u will find the similarities. Ostracizing, ridicule and rejection is a painful part of the process…but faith is the substance of things!

The best Sarsour has been able to distance herself is her questioning if Farrakhan was still relevant, but would never go as far as to denounce his views.

Conservatives aren’t the only people who have issues with Nation of Islam and Farrakhan. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) says Farrakhan “has espoused anti-Semitism and racism for over 30 years as NOI leader,” and has been the “leading anti-Semite in America” for years.

Even the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has regularly denounced “the deeply racist, anti-Semitic and anti-gay rhetoric” of both Farrakhan and other NOI leaders whose actions “earned the NOI a prominent position in the ranks of organized hate.”

Sarsour is an open supporter of the anti-Semitic BDS movement and has made her own anti-Semitic remarks, passing her hatred off as “anti-Zionism.”

Sarsour made very clear her anti-Semitic political platform in remarks made to a panel on anti-Semitism last year at The New School.

“Just in case it’s not clear, I am unapologetically Palestinian-American and will always be unapologetically Palestinian-American. I am also unapologetically Muslim-American. And guess what? I am also a very staunch supporter of the BDS movement. What other way am I supposed to be, as a Palestinian-American who’s a daughter of immigrants who lived under military occupation and still has relatives in Palestine that live under military occupation? I should be expected to have the views that I hold,” she said.

Sarsour goes on to blame the rise in antisemitism on…drumroll…President Donald Trump, suggesting that “antisemitism is redefined as criticism of Israel.”

Sarsour has cautioned Muslims to resist “humanizing” their “oppressors” and has praised the Muslim Brotherhood, openly embracing “anti-Zionist” efforts against the Jewish people and state of Israel.

Could this be why the Women’s March flipped the script on Sunday from being openly against antisemitism to the more widely accepted-to their leadership “anti-xenophobia,” connection the shooter’s obvious antisemitism to the larger issue of “white supremacy,” going as far as to retweet commentators who blamed Jewish leaders for the slaughter of their own people??

Batya Ungar-Sargon (@bungarsargon)writer at forward.com tweeted on Saturday, “Bowers & his white supremacist brethren are wrong that Jews control the world. But they are right about one thing: Most American Jews support American Muslims, opposed the Muslim ban, and welcome in refugees from Muslim countries,” writes @alexbkane.
