LOSING STREAK: Michael Avenatti’s Firm Evicted From Office As Legal Woes Mount

Creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti was handed a multi-million dollar judgment against him on the same day that he was evicted from his office.

The LA Times reports: “Porn actress Stormy Daniels’ lawyer Michael Avenatti must pay $4.85 million to an attorney who worked at his former law firm, a California judge ruled Monday in an order that holds the potential presidential candidate personally liable in a lawsuit over back pay. The Los Angeles judge ordered the payout the same day a separate ruling came down evicting Eagan Avenatti LLC from its office space in Southern California after four months of unpaid rent. In the case over back pay, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Dennis Landin ruled that Avenatti personally guaranteed a settlement with attorney Jason Frank, who said Eagan Avenatti misstated its profits and that he was owed millions of dollars.”

Wow. And you thought you were having a rough Monday.

The tide clearly turned against Avenatti when he went too far promoting the unfounded claims of his client Julie Swetnick, who alleged that Brett Kavanaugh was present at gang rape parties. Swetnick then walked those claims back.

Big League Politics’ Peter D’Abrosca reported:

A far-left news outlet ripped off Big League Politics’ five-month-old reporting Sunday, billing it as original content, in order to discredit creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti now that he is persona non grata among Democrats.

“NEW: Avenatti owes millions to the IRS … and court records show his companies owe millions more in unpaid taxes and judgments,” said Daily Beast editor-in-chief Noah Shachtman on Twitter, linking to a story about Avenatti’s tax woes.

But Big League Politics reported at great length about Avenatti’s trouble with the IRS back in May, while Daily Beast and the rest of the Trump opposition press was covering him favorably in order to promote the still-unproven claim that President Donald J. Trump had an affair with Avenatti’s client, porn star Stormy Daniels.

Only since Avenatti became persona non grata with the Democrats after turning the already circus-like atmosphere of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings to an extraordinary minstrel show, trotting out a client who accused the now-SCOTUS Justice of multiple gang rapes, did Daily Best drop him like a hot potato and decide to report on his sordid tax history.

Shachtman, five months behind Big League Politics, which his leftist rag calls a “conspiracy-theorizing pro-Trump news site,” decided to re-write BLP’s Avenatti stories, and then dishonestly presented them as if they were original.

For example, in a May 9 article called “Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer Owes Over $5 Million In Back Taxes,” we reported:

The lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti, has found his own fame working the left-wing media circuit, being hosted on CNN 59 times in less than two months. But while Avenatti has been trying to claim moral high ground over Trump, a few skeletons in his own closet have come to light.

As it turns out, Avenatti owes $5 million in back taxes!

Days later, we reported that Avenatti dodged all taxes between 2014 and 2016:

Big League Politics has learned that Michael Avenatti, lawyer to Stormy Daniels, who owes $5 million in back taxes to the IRS, failed to pay any taxes at all pertaining to his law firm from 2014-2016.

IRS records confirm that during the period in which he failed to pay income taxes, his firm made about $30 million:

But Avenatti did not just evade income taxes. He also failed to pay his employees’ Medicare and Social Security taxes, also known as federal payroll taxes. While ignoring this $1.2 million tax bill, he pocketed millions:

He even gave up filing his law firm’s tax returns with the Franchise Tax Board of California:

Avenatti also evaded state payroll taxes in the amount of $500,000.

This information was uncovered from court documents related to bankruptcy proceedings after a former employee of Avenatti’s named Scott Sims filed an arbitration claim against Avenatti for fraud. The panel of judges in the arbitration claim found that Avenatti’s firm acted with “malice, fraud and oppression by hiding it’s tax returns.”

And about the “high life” Avenatti lived as described by Daily Beast, we reported:

As recently reported here at Big League Politics, the lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti owes $5 million in back-taxes, and has a track record of shady business dealings. Now high-profile lawyer Robert Barnes claims that Avenatti has an even shadier past, involving squatting in a $12 million home while evading taxes and stiffing employees.

According to Barnes, it all began when Avenatti took out a lease-to-purchase plan on a $12 million home in Newport Beach, CA. Avenatti allegedly paid the $100,000 monthly payments until close of escrow in August of 2016. Barnes claims that just as the escrow was due,  a mysterious Swiss company sued the owner of the home Avenatti was leasing, giving him an excuse to squat in the home without making any rent payments.

Here is the waterfront home that Avenatti was squatting in, located in Newport Beach on Lido Island. Five bedrooms, four bath.

Apparently Schachtman has re-considered his position on Big League Politics’ “conspiracy- theorizing site” status after re-writing our work, but we cannot know for sure. He did not respond to our comment request.
