Minnesota Poll: Accused Abuser Keith Ellison Down 7 Points To Republican

Democratic candidate for state attorney general, accused abuser of women, and adamant sharia law sympathizer Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn), is currently trailing Republican Doug Wardlow by 7 points in a new Star Tribune/MPR News Minnesota Poll.

According to the new survey, 36% of likely voters backed Ellison, compared to 43% support for Wardlow, and 17% of respondents saying they’re still undecided just two weeks before Election Day.

Ellison’s support among women has decreased significantly since last month’s poll where he was shown to have a 16-point advantage over Wardlow among female voters. Ellison is now only up by 1 point in that specific demographic.

Could the decline among women voters who support Ellison have anything to do with being accused of domestic violence by two different women?

Ex-girlfriend Amy Alexander accused Ellison of being physically and emotionally abusive towards her in 2005, and there are also similar allegations from ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan.

Just last month Monahan released evidence that Ellison had physically abused her over the course of their relationship and tweeted out a photo (of medical records dated 2017) documenting her stress and anxiety level being directly related to her abusive relationship with Ellison.

Monahan tweeted earlier this month, “Two Dr. reports almost 6 months a part in 2017. and other democrats have a sign on letter smearing, lying and victim shaming me 4 having the courage to break my silence. What’s more heartbreaking is they r smearing my kids.

The medical report from Jodi K. Milburn, MD reads:

“She (Monahan) states that she was in a very stressful environment for years, emotional and physical abuse by a partner with whom she is now separated. She did not have any physical injuries that required physical examination in the past. She identifies the individual she was involved with as Congressman Keith Ellison, and she is worried about retribution if she identified him publicly. She feels that she is in a safe environment now and she is following up with therapy and relaxation. She has had reduced anxiety with extracting herself from the relationship and she feels much healthier now.”

During the televised debate on Sunday, Ellison addressed his relationship with anti-semite and racist, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, saying that in the 1990’s “he had some things to offer.”

The Star Tribune/MPR News Minnesota poll surveyed 800 likely Minnesota voters from Oct. 15-17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
