SECOND Migrant Caravan Heads For US: 1k Hondurans Crossing Into Guatemala Behind 1st Group of 7k Into Mexico
A second migrant caravan is now headed for the American border having formed after the first group successfully crossed over. Over 1,000 people crossed the border from Honduras into Guatemala on Sunday, before arriving in Chiquimula on Monday night, Fox reported.
Monday proved to be successful for those on the caravan of almost 10,000 members that departed from the southern Mexico city of Tapachula, with a smaller group trailing behind having entered Guatemala from Honduras late Sunday night, according to the Associated Press.
Although its unclear exactly when the second group began to form, its believed to have been somewhere near San Pedro Sula, where the first group began.

“They catch you, and you try to get back,” said Imner Anthony Fuentes, a 29-year-old who reportedly was deported for the sixth time from the U.S. five months ago. He has a son and a U.S. citizen girlfriend living in Birmingham, Ala., the Washington Post reported.
“My dream is get to the border if we could. If we can’t we are going to have to cross the river some way, some how,” a Honduran migrant who identified himself as Edwin told Fox News. As he spoke, people hung from the windows and doors of a truck as it passed by.
One man reportedly died late Monday when he fell from the back of one of the trucks and died. Marchers set up a simple memorial for the man overnight, setting out candles arranged in the shape of a cross that burned throughout the night.
Job Reyes, a 36-year-old member of the lead caravan who had previously lived in the U.S., told the Washington Post that he wants to go back to America because it’s “a country where I can live my life, unlike Guatemala.”
Reyes said that he grew up in Los Angeles but had returned to Guatemala 14 years ago when his visa expired. With the caravan, he hoped to be able to cross the U.S. border once again.
“When I heard about the caravan, I knew it was my chance,” he told the newspaper, noting his cousin and uncle still live in California and that he called them to let him know he was coming.
Senator Chuck Grassley tweeted his approval of President Trump defending the border Monday afternoon:
“PresTrump as commander in chief is right to defend country/borders & stop the attack on natl sovereignty from the 7000+ migrant caravan heading to USA. Not fair to legal immigrants going through proper LEGAL process We need to help Trump admin secure border+close immig loopholes”

Many have questioned the timing of the caravans so close to the midterms and whether or not there may be some political agenda behind them.
President Trump, tweeted on Monday about his plans to reduce and possibly cut foreign aid to the countries who were not stopping people from illegally entering the country.
“Sadly, it looks like Mexico’s Police and Military are unable to stop the Caravan heading to the Southern Border of the United States. Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in. I have alerted Border Patrol and Military that this is a National Emergy. Must change laws!”

“Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms! So unfair to those who come in legally.”

“Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”
