Trump Supporters Brave The Cold To Camp Out Before Tonight’s Texas Rally
A massive crowd of supporters began to gather early Sunday night outside of the Toyota Center in Houston for their chance to see President Donald Trump who will be in town holding a rally for Senator Ted Cruz later Monday evening.
Tickets for the event exceeded 100,000, but the max capacity inside Toyota Center is 18,000 – which quickly sold out. Supporters who were not able to get tickets began lining up outside 24 hours in advance for the first ever “Big Texas Tailgater” where they will be able to enjoy food, music and watch the rally on big screens.
Courtney Fisher (@CourtneyABC13), reporter for ABC News Houston, tweeted Sunday evening a picture of supporters bundled up in sleeping bags, red MAGA hat resting in the fold-out chair, for their opportunity to see the president during Monday’s rally.

Sunday, Big League Politics reported that the first ever “Big Texas Tailgater” (which starts at 9 a.m Monday) had been announced by Brad Parscale, Trump’s campaign manager, along with his team via Twitter:
“Incredible numbers for #HoustonRally. 100,000+ RSVPs. I have flown in early and my great team is setting up the first ever TAILGATER for outside. So everyone come, room for everyone. Come see @realDonaldTrump inside or out!”

Art Acevedo, Houston chief of police says that crowds will be turned away if the event begins to reach full capacity.
“Keep in mind that once the capacity is met, you won’t get in whether you have a ticket or not,” said Acevedo.
Protesters are expected at the event as well, but the Houston Police Department has set up a designated area near the center in anticipation of their arrival.

With doors opening at 3:30 p.m. and the event starting at 6:30 p.m., the crowd is expected to grow tremendously.
