AND STAY OUT: Hollywood Actors Try To Boycott Georgia

Hollywood’s proud tradition of inflating its own importance continues apace.

Though the film and music industry does have a pernicious psychic hold on American culture — which is dissipating fast in the age of President Trump — the marginal actors and actresses who flit through the studio star system are not usually prized members of society, especially in an American South that does not take kindly to idolaters.

Tell that to Ron Perlman, who sanctimoniously announced that he will probably no longer work in the state of Georgia following Stacey Abrams’ resounding defeat to Republican Brian Kemp in the Georgia governor’s race. We wonder if Abrams supporter Oprah Winfrey, the daytime empowerment guru, will agree to stay out of Georgia and off the campaign trail in future elections?

Here are some other Hollywood sorta-celebrities calling for a Georgia boycott, including an actor from the silly 1990’s show “The West Wing” named Bradley Whitford and Alyssa Milano, an actress from the silly 1980’s television show “Who’s The Boss?” Milano gained some political relevance for sitting behind Brett Kavanaugh at his Supreme Court confirmation hearing as Kavanaugh defeated the spurious left-wing assault claims against him and won a seat on the Court.

Democrat Stacey Abrams, apparently cognizant of the causational nature of free-market capitalism, implored her Hollywood allies not to boycott Georgia because crew members’ jobs could be put on the line.
