‘Roseanne’ Without Roseanne Barr FLOPS

It seems ABC’s decision to fire Roseanne Barr from the hit show “Roseanne”, and rebrand the show without the main character as “The Conners,” has proven to not be as lucrative as the network had hoped.

“The Conners” dropped in everything Wednesday night -total viewers, key demo. In the nightly ratings battle, the “Roseanne” spin off continues to fail, trending downward.

“Roseanne” returned from a 20-year hiatus to a huge audience last spring, with a 11.6 rating and 18.2 million viewers but during the premier of the spinoff show “The Conners” drew a measly 7.5 rating, TheWrap reported, citing Nielsen’s overnight ratings.

The spring “Roseanne” run averaged an 8.6 overnight rating, which is still 13% higher than “The Conners” premiere.

The show has been on a downward slope since it debuted without the main character that everyone knows and loves, Roseanne.

“Roseanne” Spinoff “The Conners” Premiere: Down 35% From “Roseanne” Opener

On Wednesday night, “The Conners” was beaten out by literally everything – “NCIS,” “The Voice,” etc.

The total viewers were down by 180,000, which is quite a bit. Viewers are changing the channel, and they’re not returning for more.

ABC has ordered 1 extra episode to their original order of 10.

Sounds like a finale.
