‘TEST NUMBERS’: MSNBC Tries To Explain Why It Showed Florida ‘Results’ A Day Early

MSNBC made a massive error Monday night by showing a graphic with the Florida gubernatorial election results. But the Florida gubernatorial election is being held Tuesday.

Chris Hayes said it was an accident, and that MSNBC “inadvertently populated some test numbers.”

Remember what those numbers were, according to the mistake graphic.

Andrew Gillum: 3,343,634

Ron DeSantis: 3,297,970

Difference: 45,664

Deadline reports:

“Quick clarification here,” a rather embarrassed All In host Chris Hayes told viewers. “Just want to say, earlier this hour, uh, we showed a graphic of the Florida gubernatorial race. May have caught your eye because our system had inadvertently populated some test numbers. Obviously, we do not yet have any vote totals here, the night before the election. That was a misfire. Don’t worry. I was pretty confused when I saw it up there, to see it myself.”

And, of course, MSNBC had Democrat Andrew Gillum leading the GOP’s Ron DeSantis by six-tenths of a percentage point with 99% of the ballots counted.

Deadline passage ends

Big League Politics reported:

CNN did an interview with Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum’s mother for minutes before Mz. Gillum finally identified herself as the mother of the Democrat.
