Go Figure: There’s a 475 Mile Border Wall Between Syria and Turkey, Bought and Built by the European Union

Lost in the discussion about President Donald J. Trump’s proposed erection of a big beautiful wall on the Southern border – which critics say cannot be done and will not be effective – is the fact that the European Union built a wall just like the one proposed by Trump on the border of Syria and Turkey.

“The EU states have provided the government in Ankara with security and surveillance technology valued at more than 80 million euros in exchange for the protection of its borders, according to research conducted by DER SPIEGEL and the European Investigative Collaborations network (EIC),” said a report by Der Spiegel.

According to another report, “The wall runs through the provinces of Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis, Hatay, Mardin and Sirnak and incorporates physical, electronic and advanced technology layers. The physical layer includes modular concrete walls, patrol routes, manned and unmanned towers and passenger tracks.”

The wall is 764 kilometers, or about 475 miles.

Turkey is a member of the EU, which reportedly built the wall to keep Syrians from crossing into its member nation. This is the same EU that has forced migration and refugeeism on the whole of Western Europe.

Meanwhile, Democrats in the United States continue with empty platitudes that “walls don’t work” and that Republicans are racists for desiring border security that would stop the flow of illegal drugs and unvetted aliens into our country.

On the contrary, the wall on the Turkish/Syrian border works quite well. As does Israel’s wall, and the one surrounding the Vatican, where the apostate Catholic pope lectures Americans about how taking in millions from the third world is God’s will.

The question remains: Why can’t the United States (or any other Western nation) have sovereign borders?
