Matt Gaetz Roasts Unemployed Bill Kristol in Hilarious Tweet
It just keeps getting worse for Bill Kristol.
The former editor of now-defunct Weekly Standard, which #NeverTumped itself to death, was the subject of a Twitter smackdown from a Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) early Tuesday morning.
Gaetz dug up Kristol’s August endorsement of Chris Dosev, who challenged Gaetz in a 2018 midterm primary and was summarily destroyed. In the endorsement, Kristol said Dosev was “impressive” and called Gaetz “one of the worst GOP members.”
Gaetz has been a strong supporter of President Donald J. Trump and the America First agenda, naturally pitting him against curmudgeon Kristol, the out-of-touch dinosaur.

“An unimpressive endorsement from one of the worst former publishers,” Gaetz shot back at Kristol.

This Tweet exchange is a perfect metaphor for the relationship between the old guard Republican establishment and the new, America First GOP. Kristol, who ha snot been relevant since America’s populist revolution, endorsed a loser and then watched haplessly as his formerly-impenetrable publication sank like the Titanic. Meanwhile, Gaetz won his election and bested Kristol.
It is no mystery why this trend continues. Americans want elected officials and public figures to fight for their interests. Americans do not want smug elitists who only pretend to care about them until cocktail hour, when they meet up with their black-tie D.C. friends to bash the peasant class.
Weekly Standard shuttered last week, finally succumbing to a market that no longer cares for anti-Trump conspiracy theory and snobby commentary.
Big League Politics reported:
A formerly-relevant conservative magazine has shut down after two years of #NeverTrump commentary finally drove the majority of its readership away.
“All good things come to an end. And so, after 23 years, does The Weekly Standard. I want to express my gratitude to our readers and my admiration for my colleagues. We worked hard to put out a quality magazine, and we had a good time doing so. And we have much more to do. Onward!” said Bill Kristol, formerly Weekly Standard’s editor-at-large and the publication’s most prominent personality.
Kristol is known for ditching the GOP over the nomination of President Donald J. Trump in favor of the globalist establishment. Weekly Standard’s former readers left for more in-touch media sources and never forgave him. After 23 years in business, the publication became obsolete in just two years.
