PHOTOS: McConnell and Mnuchin Pose With Millions of Dollars in Gold Bullion
Documents obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request from Government Attic show Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin posing with millions of dollars in gold bullion at Fort Knox.
“On August 21. 2017, the Secretary of the Treasury wll host a Cabinet/Congressional visit of approximately 40 Treasury, Mint and Congressional personnel to the [United States Bullion Depository] (USBD),” said a memo from Robert Booth, Field Chief of the USBD.
“This is only the second visit of this type in the 80 year history of the facility. The refreshments will be served in three locations throughout the facility where activities will occur,” the memo continued.

Several other Congressional and Treasury Department staffers were photographed in similar poses. The group also viewed the total lunar eclipse from Fort Knox during their visit.
