Presidential Petition Created To Undo Bump Stock Ban
After saying in a speech to the NRA last year that federal agencies won’t be “coming after law-abiding gun owners” anymore, President Trump’s ATF banned bump stocks just over a week ago.

In that speech to the NRA, Trump said the following:
“No longer will federal agencies be coming after law-abiding gun owners. No longer will the government be trying to undermine your rights and your freedoms as Americans. Instead, we will work with you, by your side. We will work with the NRA to promote responsible gun ownership, to protect our wonderful hunters and their access to the very beautiful outdoors. You met my son — I can tell you, both sons, they love the outdoors. Frankly, I think they love the outdoors more than they love, by a long shot, Fifth Avenue. But that’s okay. And we want to ensure you of the sacred right of self-defense for all of our citizens.”

Gun Owners of America, a pro-2nd amendment organization filed a lawsuit over the bump stock ban, asking a federal court for an emergency restraining order to block it from going forward.
“These dangerous regulations can go much farther than just bump stocks,” Erich Pratt, executive director of the organization said in a statement. “The goal of the anti-gun left is, ultimately, not just banning bump stocks, but, rather, putting ‘points on the board’ toward its goal of banning civilian ownership of all firearms.”
A new White House petition calls on President Trump to reverse the bump stock ban because it is unconstitutional, violates the second amendment, and bypasses the legislative branch.
The petition says:
This month, President Trump took a bolder Gun Control step than Obama ever did.
Why Does the Bump Stock Ban matter? As famous shooter Rob Pincus would say: “There are many reasons to fight a bump stock ban… but, Bump Stocks themselves are not one of them!” The underlying concern is that this ban opens the door to the restriction of any and all gun PARTS on the basis that they can be misused by criminals. We can’t afford to simply let this one go or look the other way.
The ban unconstitutionally rewrites existing law defining what constitutes a ‘machine gun’. If anything can make a semiauto firearm shoot faster, will they ban all those things? Will they ban firearms altogether, since they can be bump fired without accessories??
RESTORE THE 2ND AMENDMENT, REVERSE THE BAN!
After the Parkland shooting in February at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, the president advocated for red-flag laws which allow officials to “take the guns first” and provide “due process later.”
“I think some states have had these red flag laws, for example, that remove firearms after you go to a judge for potentially dangerous individuals,” Deputy White House press secretary Raj Shah told reporters at a press briefing in February. “That’s something that’s being done right now in a variety of states, right?”
“They have due process rights for these individuals. It seems to be working in certain areas. That’s something that we’re looking at and other places we’re looking at.”
