Trump Has Been Blasting ‘Republicans’ Who Want to Cave to on Wall Funding
President Donald J. Trump is said to have recently let loose on two prominent Republicans who have advised him cave to Democrats and re-open in the government without an agreed upon plan for funding a border wall.
First, Trump rebuked a plan offered up by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
Graham suggested on Fox News that Trump reopen the government for a short period of time in an attempt to get the Democrats to move on funding for a wall.
“I would urge him to open up the government for a short period of time, like three weeks, before he pulls the plug, see if we can get a deal,” Graham said. ““If we can’t at the end of three weeks, all bets are off; see if he can do it by himself with the emergency powers. That is my recommendation.”

“I’m not interested,” Trump reportedly said in response. “I want to get it solved. I don’t want to just delay it.”
Similarly, Trump’s Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney tried to cut a deal with the Democrats earlier this month, for which he was leveled by Trump.
“President Trump chastised his new Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, over his handling of shutdown talks, creating an awkward scene in front of congressional leaders of both parties, according to two sources who were present,” Axios reported.
Apparently, Mulvaney interrupted Trump’s negotiations with the Democratic Party leaders in the room. Trump reportedly cut Mulvaney off, telling him he “fucked it all up.”
The pair joked about the situation after the meeting, but Axios reported that Trump has not been pleased with Mulvaney since the former budget director since Mulvaney initially inserted a $1.6 billion request for wall funding into the 2019 budget. Trump wants $5.8 billion, and has reportedly questioned Mulvaney on why where he came up the $1.6 billion figure in the first place.
It appears that Trump is battling both parties to get his wall funded. Republicans have not seen spine like this from a member of their party during their entire time in government, which they have spent giving into the whims far-left Democrats in the name of “bipartisanship,” which only seems to work in one direction. Standing up for what they want is new territory for them, but Trump has stayed the course.
