FLASHBACK: Young Turks Celebrate Death of White Christianity in America
As Democrats spent an entire week deciding whether bigotry was wrong, and finally decided that it was wrong – except against white Christians – Big League Politics stumbled across a 2017 clip from The Young Turks, celebrating the death of white Christianity in America.
“A new survey indicates that white Christians, are, for the first time, a minority in the United States,” Ana Kasparian said gleefully in 2017. “Well, first time since whites came and basically did their colonial thing.”
Democrats, it turns out, have been supporting the death of white Christianity for years. They simply decided to codify it last week.
Of course, the Turks have a long history of barbarism that exists to this day, but apparently Kasparian has never cracked a history book.
Kasparian made her point without a hint of irony, failing to note that the Ottoman Empire occupied a significant amount of territory against the will of native inhabitants for more than 600 years, until they slaughtered 1.5 million Armenians in 1915. Turkey became a Republic shortly thereafter, and continues its human right’s abuses to this day.
All of this is apparently lost on the folks over at The Young Turks, who have been known to deny the Armenian genocide, and are now encouraging the death of white Christianity.
“White Christians, once predominant in the country’s religious life, now comprise only 43 percent of the population,” Kasparian said, quoting from a study by the Public Religion Institute.
Cenk Uygur, the head Young Turk (and the oldest) went on to celebrate the fact that demographic changes are set to wipe out the Republican party.
“The way that conservative, white, evangelical voters have voted is disastrous,” he said.
As usual, the only acceptable form of bigotry in the United States is a bigotry against white Christians.
