Dick’s Gun Ban Loses Sporting Goods Store Hundreds of Millions

Dick’s Sporting Goods’ anti-gun policies are hitting them where it hurts most — their pocket books.

After the Parkland massacre, which renewed Democrats’ nationwide push for gun control, corporations began to virtue signal their support for anti-gun measures.

Dick’s was one of the first to do so by banning the sales of AR-15s.

According to a Bloomberg News report, the retailer lost about $150 million sales, roughly 1.7 percent of annual revenue.

Despite these indicators, Dick’s has continued its anti-gun crusade with a new plan to stop selling guns in 125 locations.

And the head honcho of Dick’s isn’t even trembling.

In the Bloomberg report, CEO Ed Stack said the “The system does not work.”

Stack continued, “It’s important that when you know there’s something that’s not working, and it’s to the detriment of the public, you have to stand up.”

The perpetrator of the Parkland massacre, Nikolas Cruz, bought a shotgun from Dick’s a few months prior to the attack, where he murdered 17 people.

Under Stack’s watch, Dick’s also banned gun sales to adults under the age of 21.

However, the gun ban hasn’t yet affected Dick’s stock price.

According to the Bloomberg report, shares have risen by 14 percent in 13 months since the Parkland massacre.

Pro-gun organizations did not approve of Dick’s decision to ban guns.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation kicked Dick’s out of the organization. Even gun manufactures like Mossberg stopped doing business with Dick’s.

Those who supported Dick’s gun control virtue signaling did not follow through in becoming customers.

Stack concluded by saying “Love is fleeting. Hate is forever.”
