NEOCONNED: Reuters Confirms John Bolton Derailed Trump’s North Korea Negotiations
Reuters has now confirmed what many America First advocates have speculated about all along—John Bolton sabotaged Trump’s recent denuclearization talks with North Korea.
Journalists Lesley Wroughton and David Brunnstrom detailed how the negotiations began to unravel:
U.S. President Donald Trump handed North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a piece of paper that included a blunt call for the transfer of Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons and bomb fuel to the United States.
The document handed over to Kim also pressed for North Korea to fully dismantle its “nuclear infrastructure, chemical and biological warfare program and related dual-use capabilities; and ballistic missiles, launchers, and associated facilities.”

ZeroHedge summed up the nature of this failed deal:
Trump surprised Kim by demanding complete, unilateral disarmament in exchange for a flimsy promise to lift economic sanctions sometime in the future. Naturally, Kim rejected the offer.
This deal featured a previous pattern of negotiations employed by John Bolton in the past:
The document appeared to represent Bolton’s long-held and hardline “Libya model” of denuclearization that North Korea has rejected repeatedly. It probably would have been seen by Kim as insulting and provocative, analysts said.
North Korea has repeatedly brushed the Libyan style of denuclearization to the side. And for good reason:
Seven years after a denuclearization agreement was reached between the United States and Libya’s leader, Muammar Gaddafi, the United States took part in a NATO-led military operation against his government and he was overthrown by rebels and killed.
Kim did not want to see a repeat of Libya all over again.
The neoconservative policy jousting within the administration has remained a present theme throughout the Trump’s presidency.
BLP has reported on numerous occasions about Bolton’s meddling in both North Korea and Venezuela.
Entrenched pro-interventionist interests have also played a substantial role in putting the clamps on Trump’s withdrawal plans in Syria.
All is not lost, however, since Trump will likely renew talks with North Korea in the near future.
However, the role John Bolton plays in these discussions will likely be placed under further scrutiny by Trump’s most avid America First supporters.
