CBS Mourns for Rioter Who Attacked Rittenhouse, Claim ‘Protesters’ Shot #Political
While 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse shouldn’t have traveled from his home in Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin Tuesday, he however had the right to defend himself when rioters threatened his life (something the liberal media have been lying to their viewers about). But during Thursday’s CBS Evening News, correspondent Mola Lenghi took things to a disgusting low and mourned the death of one his attackers, Anthony Huber.
Leading into the report, anchor Norah O’Donnell lied about how many rioters were allegedly killed by Rittenhouse. She claimed three people were killed:
We're going to turn now to some breaking news coming in from Kenosha, Wisconsin. 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse has just been charged with first-degree, reckless homicide and use of a dangerous weapon. Rittenhouse is accused of shooting and killing three people Tuesday night at a protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
In reality, it was two and she also lied about it being a protest.
At one point in the segment, Lenghi highlighted an interview he did with Huber’s girlfriend in an attempt to mischaracterize what happened that night, painting him as a hero:
LENGHI: And tonight, Hannah Gittings speaks to CBS News. She's the girlfriend of Anthony Huber, who was shot and killed while trying to stop the gunman Tuesday night.
HANNAH GITTINGS: Who knows what could have happened if he hadn't done that. And it's just not fair that he had to die like that.
But reports have shown that Huber was not some kind of hero. “Anthony Huber, 26, was shot & killed in Kenosha, Wisc. at the BLM riot. He was filmed chasing down the armed teen and hitting him when he was on the ground with a skateboard. He has a criminal history that includes charges of battery & repeat domestic abuse,” discovered The Post Millennial’s editor-at-large, Andy Ngo.
As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, the incident involving Rittenhouse began after he was chased into a parking lot by rioter Joseph Rosenbaum, a convicted sex offender who was caught on video earlier that night shouting the “N-word.” After Rittenhouse allegedly shot that attacker, he continued to flee as a mob of rioters pursued him. That crowd included Huber, who hit the kid with his skateboard, and Gaige Grosskreutz.
Lenghi covered up how Grosskreutz was caught apparently brandishing a gun at Rittenhouse before getting shot in the arm. He too has a long rap sheet which included weapons charges.
Last night, Lenghi tried to paint Rittenhouse and a mass shooter on a rampage. “It allegedly began when he shot one person in the head at this boarded up business. Then fired on protesters in the middle of the street as they tried to subdue him,” he claimed.
Again, Rittenhouse shouldn’t have been there but he did have a right to defend himself. And CBS was intentionally gaslighting their viewers.
CBS’s lies and misinformation were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Amazon, ADT Security Services, and TD Ameritrade. 6:38:08 p.m. EasternNORAH O’DONNELL: We're going to turn now to some breaking news coming in from Kenosha, Wisconsin. 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse has just been charged with first-degree, reckless homicide and use of a dangerous weapon. Rittenhouse is accused of shooting and killing three people Tuesday night at a protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. And tonight, we're learning new details about those two incidents. CBS Mola Lenghi reports tonight from Kenosha.
[Cuts to video]
PROTESTERS: Out of your house and into the streets!
MOLA LENGHI: Tonight, continued calls for justice for Jacob Blake. The officer who fired those seven shots now identified as Rusten Sheskey, a seven-year veteran of the Kenosha Police Department. Authorities also say police found a knife on the floor of Blake's SUV.
The incident fueled frustrations over systemic racism, as the aftermath of Tuesday's shooting gets a closer look.
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: Hey, he just shot them! Hey, dude right here just shot them!
LENGHI: Alleged gunman Kyle Rittenhouse walking away, gun in tow, as people scream that he just shot protesters. One law enforcement officer, seeming to ask Rittenhouse if anyone was hurt?
UNIDENTIFIED OFFICER: Someone injured straight ahead?
LENGHI: Two incidents, two videos, with some asking why two different responses.
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: If there were the same amount of black men walking around with those AKs or ARs or whatever-- I'm not a gun person-- I think the outcome would be a little bit different.
[Cuts back to live]
LENGHI: Kyle Rittenhouse will have an extradition hearing in Illinois tomorrow. Meanwhile, here in Kenosha, you can hear a peaceful rally going on behind me, but the three nights of unrest here left many small businesses damaged or destroyed. The mayor of Kenosha told me today he's turning to state and federal officials to help get those business owners some financial relief. Norah.
O’DONNELL: Mola Lenghi. Thank you.
