Just a few days into his administration and already the feminazi claws are out for “Joe middle-of-the-Road Biden!” Pro-abortion activist Danielle Campoamor tuned into the Biden administration's first White House press briefing on Wednesday and didn’t like what she heard. She explained, in an error riddled article for the UK Independent on Thursday, that “Biden made a massive unforced error” on abortion. But don’t let her get you all filled with hope that Biden might have grown a conscience and is becoming pro-life. Her complaint is that he’s not radically pro-abortion enough. EWTN, which Campoamor erroneously called an “evangelical news site” despite the reporter identifying it as a “Global Catholic Network,” asked about Biden’s position on the Mexico City Policy (which bans taxpayer dollars from funding abortions abroad) and the Hyde Amendment (which bans taxpayer dollars from funding abortions in the U.S.) Press Secretary Jen Psaki replied, “Well, I think we’ll have more to say on the Mexico City policy in the coming days, but I will just take the opportunity to remind all of you that he is a devout Catholic and somebody who attends church regularly.” Campoamor was aghast. Instead of assuming official opposition to Hyde is coming in the future as well (as it most likely is) she started spiraling, finding something far more sinister in Psaki’s response about Biden’s Catholic faith to a Catholic news organization: … So by deliberately side-stepping the question and, instead, evoking Biden’s Catholic faith, the Biden/Harris administration kicked off their tenure by reinforcing abortion stigma, erroneously suggesting that Catholics do not have abortions. This also signaled to abortion patients that Biden’s quest for unity may very well come at the cost of their bodily autonomy. Is it really that grand a gesture in the “quest for unity” for the Biden administration to not immediately signal a willingness to blowup decades of bipartisan precedent and force pro-life taxpayers to pay for abortions in the U.S.? Campoamor engages in the “faux debate” she accused Republicans of fostering by talking about polling on the legality of abortion (while linking to articles that emphasize the complexity of the issue), but the issue at hand is taxpayer funding of abortion. There she has no leg to stand on. Even Slate has warned, “Abortion Funding Isn’t As Popular As Democrats Think: Recent polls debunk much of what progressives believe.” Next comes the old lefty trick: if the usual abortion arguments don’t work, try a racial appeal: The gift he gives a fractured GOP in the name of bipartisanship is a detriment to the very people who gave Biden the presidency: Black women… The majority of people who seek out abortion services are Black women. The majority of people who are harmed by the federal government’s refusal to allow funds to pay for abortion services are Black women. A sense of unity should not come at the cost of the most marginalized among us. The problem is that Campoamor doesn’t seem to know what the word “majority” means. Black women are not the majority in either instance she cited – according to her own hyperlinks! If she cared to be accurate, which clearly isn’t a priority, she’d say black women are a plurality or that women of color are the majority. Also, wasn’t it only 10 minutes ago we were told that anything that has a racially disparate impact is evidence of racism? Via the first link in the previously quoted paragraph, “the abortion rate for black women is almost five times that for white women” – according to leftist rules that’s evidence of systemic racism! There’s no getting around the fact that getting rid of Hyde would increase the already extraordinarily high number of black babies slaughtered every year. Why does Campoamor want more black death? In the off chance that Biden maintains historical presidential support for the Hyde Amendment, it wouldn't be some extravagant "gift" to the GOP, it would simply be the kind of "return to normalcy" he promised Americans.from Newsbusters - Welcome to NewsBusters, a project of the Media Research Center (MRC), America’s leading media watchdog in documenting, exposing Follow News Busters
