Inconceivable! Ted Cruz Crushes ‘Princess Bride’ Star in Twitter Exchange #Political

Hollywood’s clout chasing of the day comes from c-list celebrity Cary Elwes. The opponent: Ted Cruz.

As a reminder, Elwes played Westley in the 1987 film The Princess Bride. As he’s a far leftie, a Twitter feud broke out against Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz. Not surprising.

Cruz, an avid fan of The Princess Bride, said in his own podcast that “The view of the Left is people are a disease.” Since Elwes clearly disagreed, he instigated a duel on Twitter in a desperate attempt to become relevant again. “@tedcruz How does it feel to know that not only the entire cast and crew of your favorite movie The Princess Bride, but almost the whole entertainment industry, have nothing but rabid contempt for you? #inconceivable? I think not, you miserable ROUS.”

ROUS is an acronym from the movie meaning Rodents Of Unusual Size -- massive rats essentially.

Elwes is part of the fantasy world of Hollyweirdos that has an inflated perception of everything they say and do. Put as proof that things don’t end well when actors don’t have other people’s words to say, Cruz’s response was funny and devastating. The senator tweeted out a picture of Elwes in a framed Princess Bride publicity photo, with an autograph made out to … Ted Cruz. “@Cary_Elwes,” Cruz asked, “Does this mean you want your picture back?”

Ouch.

This isn’t even the first time Elwes and Cruz hashed it out. Back in September The Princess Bride cast raised $4.3 million for Biden’s bid for president through a virtual table read. Cruz showed his own distaste for Elwes virtue signal when he used The Princess Bride movie quotes to emphasize his point.

Well, the moment everyone’s been waiting for. Elwes has officially blocked Cruz. It’s the ultimate compliment and means he must be doing something right.

But since Cruz is an adult, The Princess Bride will probably remain one of his favorites. Normal people can enjoy the movie despite crossed swords.
