MSNBC Promo: Look at Our Obsequious Fawning Over Biden! #Political

https://ift.tt/1oDyG7U

In its latest promo, MSNBC touted two years of sycophantic coverage for Joe Biden on the campaign trail and right up through Inauguration Day. The star of the ad was reporter and reliable Biden fanboy Mike Memoli, who was shown lobbing softballs to the Democrat about his “political future,” coffee-drinking habits, and how it felt to win the White House.

The commercial for the left-wing cable channel began with this headline on screen: “This is ridin’ with Biden.” That certainly set the tone of the rest of ad. Memoli was shown slobbering over Biden as early as September of 2018, asking the then-potential presidential candidate: “Talk about what this means in terms of your political future. Is this an audition for 2020?”

Cut to Independence Day 2019, where the reporter could be seen teeing up the announced candidate: “Mr. Vice President, how do you compare what you see here in Independence, Iowa on the Fourth of July to what’s happening in Washington today?” Biden declared: “These folks are here to celebrate values.”

A moment highlighted from January of 2020 showed Memoli wondering about Biden’s caffeine intake: “How many cups of coffee is that today?”

The ad wrapped up with Memoli cheering Biden on from the sidelines during the January 20 inaugural parade: “Mr. President, you’ve been aspiring to this office for your whole career. What does this moment feel like as you’re about to walk into the West Wing?” The President happily responded: “It feels like I’m going home.”

MSNBC’s tag line, “This is why you watch,” then appeared on screen, as if there were reason to be proud of lapdog coverage that had been displayed.

Memoli has a long record of sucking up to Biden during the campaign and in the months since the election. During a July 2020 press conference, the hacky MSNBC correspondent gushed: “The polls today show you with a sizable national lead, a lead in a lot of the states critical in the Electoral College. I wonder where do you think the race stands at this moment?” That was barely even a question, let alone challenging.

Earlier in the 2020 campaign, Memoli justified himself and his leftist media colleagues refusing to press Biden on sexual assault allegations made by former staffer Tara Reade.

During a press conference in November, after Biden’s electoral win, Memoli was again there to toss softballs to the President-Elect.

The real purpose of the ad was for MSNBC to assure its left-wing viewers that it would continue to be cheerleaders for Biden and his new administration in the years to come.

Here is a transcript of the shameless promo aired on February 3:
