NEW NewsBusters Podcast: Chris Cuomo Crumbles All the Rules #Political
On the NewsBusters Podcast: The Washington Post dropped a bombshell story detailing how Chris Cuomo was part of a sexual harassment advisory team for his brother Gov. Andrew Cuomo, something he was never going to tell his viewers. He advised his brother in front of a bunch of staffers that he should strongly resist any calls for him to resign over multiple sexual harassment charges (not to mention his terrible management of COVID-19).
After the story came out, Cuomo went on air and admitted it was "family first, job second." Cuomo said he was in “a unique and difficult situation” and suggested he knew “where the line is. But he obliterated any ethical barrier in this story.
CNN admitted to The Post what Chris did was “inappropriate” but said Chris was not going to be punished for his massive breach of journalistic ethics: “However, it was inappropriate to engage in conversations that included members of the Governor’s staff, which Chris acknowledges,” the statement added. “He will not participate in such conversations going forward.” In other words, everyone expected him to offer political advice to his brother. He's just embarrassing CNN when he's shameless enough to advise his brother in front of a pile of other people. The network said Cuomo will not be disciplined.
