Angelina Jolie: Biden’s Afghan Pullout ‘Failure Almost Impossible to Understand’ #Political
The liberal media is kicking Biden’s liver-spotted behind over this Afghanistan stuff, and even some Hollywood A-listers are denouncing the president’s disastrous pullout of the country.
Angelina Jolie, the legendary Hollywood beauty, newest Marvel superhero movie star and famous humanitarian, christened her brand new Instagram account on Friday by lamenting the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan generated in the wake of the U.S. military's haphazard and abrupt exit. In her first ever Instagram post, Jolie called the government’s withdrawal from the country a “failure almost impossible to understand.”
In order to illustrate for her fans just how bad it is in the now Taliban-controlled country, the actress included a handwritten letter from a young Afghan girl detailing the fear she and her family feel in the wake of the pullout. In the caption for the post, Jolie wrote, “Right now, the people of Afghanistan are losing their ability to communicate on social media and to express themselves freely. So I’ve come on Instagram to share their stories.”
The actress explained that she’s toured the war torn country in the past, prior to 9/11, and spoken directly with those people about their experiences with the brutal Islamic radicals which comprise the military group. “I was on the border of Afghanistan two weeks before 9/11, where I met Afghan refugees who had fled the Taliban,” Jolie explained, adding, “It is sickening to watch Afghans being displaced yet again out of the fear and uncertainty that has gripped their country.”
Jolie also commented on the sad fact that for all that the U.S. has done in its 20-year-long occupation of the country, it has been turned right back into the hands of the Taliban, the faction we defeated decades ago in our search for Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden. Jolie wrote, “To spend so much time and money, to have blood shed and lives lost only to come to this, is a failure almost impossible to understand.”
Jolie also criticized the American government in a column for Time Magazine, writing, “Whatever your views on the war in Afghanistan, we probably agree on one thing: it should not have ended this way.” She claimed the U.S. had “cut and run” and abandoned our allies in the “most chaotic way imaginable.”
It’s hard not to agree with Jolie when we see from Biden administration officials in TV interviews that they don’t even know how many American civilians are trapped in Taliban territory and they’ve explicitly stated they cannot guarantee U.S. citizens nor our Afghan allies safe passage from the country. And then there are the reports of the Taliban getting tons of excellent U.S. military equipment and bases that were left behind, just to use on the poor people Jolie is worried about.
It seems that Jolie’s just expressing what’s on everyone’s minds.
