Faith Based Film, 'The Blind,' Lands Top 5 Spot at Box Office Despite Studio Rejections #Political
It’s good to see faith prevail every once in a while.
A new drama biopic called “The Blind” reached top five at the box office during its first week of showings. The faith-based film’s success is a major “told ya so” to the studios and critics that didn’t take a chance on it.
“The Blind” is a story about redemption, family and faith. It’s based on the true story of Phil Robertson from the popular series, “Duck Dynasty.” The film highlights Robertson’s life and details his testimony of going from a drug addict and an alcoholic to completely turning his life around and living it for the Lord.
According to an article posted by Movieguide on Tuesday, the movie landed a top five spot after being out just a week. It also apparently scored a number one spot on its opening day, September 28. According to Box Office Pro, the movie brought in $839,000 on opening day and in its first full weekend, earned $4,100,000.
This is shocking news given the fact that “The Blind” is only being played in 1,717 theaters, Movieguide noted, which is way less than the reach that the widest films in the market get. For reference, the new “Paw Patrol” movie was played in 2,989 theaters and earned $23,000,000 in sales.
This reminds me of the “Sound of Freedom” movie that reached record highs despite the media, theaters and studios trying to suppress it for its pro-child and pro-faith themes.
In response to the success of “The Blind,” users on Twitter/X called out why this is such a big deal.
“It goes against everything that wokeness represents. It’s a story of self redemption, family, and faith. So of course Hollywood rejected it…that didn’t stop them,” the popular anti-groomer account, Libs of TikTok posted.
Others replied to the news in similar manners.
“The cultural shift is happening, and they are literally shaking. I am so glad to see things going back to normal. We all need to continue to support movies like this,” a user wrote.
“Huge W,” one wrote. And others called out how this film goes against typical views of “entertainment” from the left.
“They [Hollywood] want to promote stories of degeneracy and degradation rather than healing and perseverance,” one said.
Another added, “Poor mental health and trauma are a profitable business for elites. They don't want people thinking there's hope for reform to rise up.”
Ultimately, its nice to see something that was squashed by two major Hollywood studios have such success on its opening week. Hopefully, other films with morals like these keep popping up and prevailing against the woke ideals of the left.
