NewsBusters Podcast: Kamala Says You're Weird, I'm Rich, Trump's Dumb #Political

https://ift.tt/J2ELc5C

On Monday morning, NBC's Hallie Jackson aired a story on the presidential race with these themes. Kamala's campaign is loaded with dough; Kamala thinks the Republicans are all "weird"; and Trump is "on defense" because he made a lame joke about Americans not needing to vote in four years.

This was silly, because the Democrats seek to undo whatever Trump would try to do. This also came with commentary from Kamala's camp. They did the usual left-wing freakout: this means the End of Democracy! Then NBC dug into its video archive from 2023 to remind everyone that Liz Cheney claims Trump may never leave office if he gets elected again.

Then, President Biden was poised to introduce his plan for so-called Supreme Court reform, which is most importantly offering term limits for justices. My joke on X: "Don't look now, but the president who's been in public office since 1973 wants TERM LIMITS for Supreme Court justices." The Left cannot handle Roe v. Wade being overturned. They would rather pack and overturn the court and get their way.

ABC News host Martha Raddatz displayed two differing interview styles on Sunday's This Week. With Gov. Chris Sununu (R-N.H.), Raddatz employed a scolding tone, implying it was totally out of bounds to call Kamala a radical threat to democracy. But with Gov. Wes Moore (D-Md.), Raddatz briefly touched on how Moore was counseling Biden to get out of the race in private, then going out in public saying he should stay. After she pushed gently, she then switched to asking about the most positive polls for Harris she could find.

Plus: Don't believe people who tried to deny the French producers of the Olympic opening ceremonies didn't mean to mock a painting of The Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles. "Thomas Jolly took inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci’s famous painting to create the setting,” producers said in the statement. “Clearly, there was never an intention to show disrespect towards any religious group or belief." Riiiight.
