NB Podcast: The Zero Self-Respect Press Accepts Teleprompter Democrat Campaign #Political
Kamala Harris is treating reporters like a of troop of Typhoid Marys. The Republicans, especially J.D. Vance, are making a campaign issue of how Harris has been avoiding the press since July 21, when President Biden announced he was forced out of the race. So far, it’s another basement campaign, and why not?
Our political press corps has zero self-respect. They don’t care about access to the leading Democrats. They obviously care only about Democrat victory. If access to the press endangers Democrats, then the Democrat press is fine with no access.
The National Association of Black Journalists brutalized Donald Trump at their convention, but were fine that Harris claimed she couldn't make it and maybe she could do a Zoom call in September. That seemed to be fine with all the Democrat reporters.
Now Vance is taking questions, and they're rough. NBC's Garrett Haake claimed Vance said Gov. Josh Shapiro's "Jewish faith" was the only reason picked Walz, and then he asked him, "Do you have any evidence to support that assertion that a person who is married to a Jewish man is somehow anti-semitic or somehow bowing to anti-Semites?" Vance said the premise was wrong, that he didn't claim it Judaism was the "only factor" in rejecting Shapiro, and said "you should take a little less DNC talking points when you ask your questions and ask a real question." Vance said clearly the Democrats heard from a noisy faction that didn't want Shapiro.
Haake seemed to miss the article on NBCNews.com which explained, "Most prominently, Shapiro, an observant Jew who has sharply condemned the rise of antisemitism, including at some pro-Palestinian protests, has faced scrutiny over his record on issues related to Israel."
CBS took a similar tack when they interviewed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Instead of asking a question, Vlad Duthiers asserted Republicans can't plausibly suggest the Democrats have any antisemitism issue. AOC oozed at "incredible leader" Chuck Schumer and Kamala's husband Doug Emhoff, a "profoundly wonderful figure."
Over at CNN, Jake Tapper found himself on the defensive when his colleagues Abby Phillip and Audie Cornish told him picking Shapiro would have harmed Harris with "Uncommitted voters" -- that's code for radical-left Muslims who want Israel wiped off the map -- needed to be heard. Tapper insisted Shapiro had the same opinions on Israel that Walz did, but he apparently made the "mistake" of attacking anti-Semitic encampments on college campuses.
Cornish said Harris needed to have "more of an open door to the parts of the party that had been very frustrated with the Democrats." What conservatives call the "from the river to the sea crowd" of Israel eliminationists apparently deserves to be treated with great respect and plenty of euphemisms.
