Merriam-Webster just changed their definition of “assault rifle” to “a rifle that resembles a military assault rifle but is designed to allow only semiautomatic fire.”

So it's an assault rifle if it LOOKS like an assault rifle, even if it DOESN’T function as an assault rifle? 🤔
