CNN's Jim Sciutto Exposed as Two-Faced Tweeter on Diplomacy with Dictators

Becket Adams at the Washington Examiner pointed to the partisan nature of Trump foreign policy analysis by CNN correspondents who used to work for Barack Obama. His target? National security correspondent Jim Sciutto, who worked from 2011 to 2013 as chief of staff to Obama's ambassdor to China, Gary Locke.

Sciutto ardently expressed his displeasure set that President Trump smiled for a photo this month with North Korean envoy Kim Yong Chol: “@realDonaldTrump is smiling next to a man who runs a gulag jailing some 200,000 North Koreans and who oversaw the sinking of a South Korean Navy ship killing 46 & the hacking of Sony North America,” Sciutto lecture-tweeted last weekend.

As Adams noted, North Korea is one of the world's most despotic regimes. But he noted that Sciutto was selectively offended. "Recall that in 2014, as Obama restored the U.S.' formal relations with Cuba, Sciutto’s tone was decidedly different. Reverential, even."

By then a CNN correspondent, Sciutto the former Obama official tweeted on December 17, 2014: “The call that changed half a century of division: POTUS speaking with #Cuba Pres. Raul Castro yesterday”.

So talking to a dictator is a historic blow against "division" when a Democrat president does it, but when Trump does it, it's granting respect to a mass-murdering gulag operator. What does Sciutto think the Castro brothers have been doing in communist Cuba all these years?
