Univision Anchor: Nationalism Is Bad Unless It's For The World Cup #GreatAwakening
A recent Univision newscast exposes the hypocrisies inherent to Latino identity politics. It turns out that some nationalism is acceptable, after all.
Watch as Univision anchors Jorge Ramos lays out what nationalism is acceptable, as aired on Noticiero Univision on Wednesday, June 13, 2018:
JORGE RAMOS: The World Cup allows for that nationalism that we don’t allow for other things. How’s Colombia doing?
ILIA CALDERÓN: Let’s hope that we play like never before and not lose like always, and that we achieve something.
JORGE RAMOS: I hope that Mexico gets past that damned fourth game…
ILIA CALDERÓN: So that you can enjoy it, right?
JORGE RAMOS: It’s a curse. The curse of the fourth game.
ILIA CALDERÓN: We’re...we’re always five cents short of a peso. What do we do? Well...good night.
JORGE RAMOS: Thank you...thank you for joining us again. We’ll see you tomorrow.
World Cup rah-rah nationalism is acceptable to our moral superiors at Univision, the network that is actively championing the Abolish ICE movement. When it comes to the sort of nationalism that calls for securing our sovereign border and advocating for America's best interests, well, that's just unacceptable. If it were anyone else, we'd say that they let the mask slip, but this is Jorge Ramos we're talking about, so there you have it.
