LISTEN: Hannity Talks Censorship with Jack from Twitter in Groundbreaking Interview
CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey spoke with Sean Hannity on Wednesday and discussed his platform’s policy towards hate speech, free speech, shadowbanning, and why Twitter joined the other social media giants and banned Alex Jones and Infowars from his platform.
LISTEN to Sean Hannity’s interview with CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey:
Dorsey explains in the interview with Hannity that he wouldn’t be banning Jones and Infowars from Twitter because they haven’t violated their terms of service. He went on to tell Hannity that they have “fallen short” by not communicating why they may take action on certain tweets.

“We have a lot more work to do,” Dorsey said.
“We do not shadowban according to political ideology,” Dorsey explained. “Every model that we have on the network is really looking at the behaviors on the network. We take those behaviors as signals. I do want to point out that these signals evolve minute by minute, hourly by hourly. These are not scarlet permanent letters that people then take on as a badge and will never be ranked high in search, or not allowed to trend or ranked high in conversations. These are models that are looking at behaviors. Behaviors of bad faith actors that intend to manipulate, distract, divide a conversation, or to unfairly amplify their content which they didn’t earn. Those are the signals that factor in. And we do rank search, we do rank trends and we do rank conversations accordingly. That does not effect one’s timeline-if you follow someone on Twitter, you’re going to see them in your timeline. Now, we do rank the timeline for relevance, so it may take some scrolling to see everything, but you can also turn that ranking off in the settings so you can see everything in recency order.”
The argument that conservatives are being censored and shadowbanned on social media platforms has become a hot topic, but these social media platforms stepped their game up on Monday morning banning Alex Jones and Infowars from Spotify, Apple, Facebook, and YouTube. Tuesday, it was Pinterest, LinkedIn and MailChimp who deleted Jones and Infowars from their platforms. However, Instagram and Twitter have not joined in on the censoring of Jones and Infowars.
“There’s a lot of nuance to this,” Dorsey told Hannity. “This is definitely not easy but we’re trying to approach this with a very simple goal which is how do we earn more trust.”
Dorsey spoke out on Tuesday about why Twitter will not be banning Jones, but even though he may not be banned, there is heavy shadowbanning going on-to which Twitter has even admitted to.
We didn’t suspend Alex Jones or Infowars yesterday. We know that’s hard for many but the reason is simple: he hasn’t violated our rules. We’ll enforce if he does. And we’ll continue to promote a healthy conversational environment by ensuring tweets aren’t artificially amplified.
