Planned Parenthood Shuts Down Private Screening Of New Gosnell Movie In Texas

Planned Parenthood has convinced a hotel in Austin, Texas, to cancel a private screening of the new movie about convicted “House of Horrors” abortionist Kermit Gosnell, according to the film’s producers.

“Gosnell: The Trial of American’s Biggest Serial Killer,” is set to open on October 12th, with a private screening scheduled on Saturday night in the Hyatt Hotel in the Texas capital at the same time Planned Parenthood hosts a $400 per plate gala dinner headlined by the organization’s former CEO, Cecille Richards.

The producers of the movie were just told on Monday by the Hyatt that the screening would be canceled, citing “security reasons.”

Producers told WND they had already paid the deposit and signed the contract in order to reserve the space for the movie screening.

“Everything that was required by the Hyatt was provided and completed as required,” a spokesman said.

Producer Ann McElhinney said the movie screening “gave a real choice to the people of Austin.”

“Over 250 had already registered to go and we were receiving dozens of new RSVPs every day,” she said. “But now thanks to the bullying of Planned Parenthood and the cowardice of the Hyatt they won’t get to see the Gosnell Movie and the truth about abortion.”

Big League Politics recently reported on NPR refusing to run an ad where Gosnell was referred to as an “abortion doctor,” telling executive producer for the movie John Sullivan that they would have to drop the “abortionist” term and use “doctor” instead when describing Gosnell.

“Gosnell was convicted by a jury in 2013 of murdering three newborn babies and contributing to the death of a female patient, in addition to numerous other crimes. He was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences for his crimes.

Gosnell’s sick abortion center operated for three decades before Philadelphia authorities uncovered the criminal activity. According to court testimony, Gosnell would perform illegal abortions on late-term unborn babies, which included live births where he would stab the newborn babies in the backs of their necks with scissors to kill them.

Gosnell’s notorious “house of horrors” abortion facility shocked the entire world, yet initially the only media outlets that would cover the story were conservative news sites.”-BLP

Producers of the movie say that it exposes the lack of media attention that the case received at the time.

Producer Phelim McAleer said the cancellation of the screening is “only a temporary victory for the forces of intolerance that have tried to bury this story all along the way.”

McAleer said the screening at the Hyatt was simply a “sneak peak” before the movie hit theaters on October 12th, where it will be running on 750 screens nationwide.

The film centers around Detective James “Woody” Wood, who is played by Dean Cain, along with his partner Det. Stark – played by Alfonzo Rachel – who work an informant network to identify a doctor who had allegedly been selling prescription drugs illegally.

As details of the case began to unfold, Wood and District Attorney Sarah Jane Morris are confronted not only by the horrors of the case, but also the resistance from both government and personal politics.

“Gosnell” is directed by Nick Searcy who starred in “The Shape of Water” and the critically acclaimed FX series “Justified.”
