Flake Opens Up Another Line of Attack On Kavanaugh: ‘Sharp and Partisan’
Outgoing Arizona senator Jeff Flake is premiering a new focus in his criticism of Brett Kavanaugh, attacking President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee for being “partisan.”
Flake sparked the FBI investigation into Kavanaugh’s alleged encounter with Christine Blasey Ford, the existence of which has not been supported by any concrete evidence. Flake’s call for the probe, legitimized by the fact that he could potentially sway the confirmation vote, came after he was publicly confronted in a Capitol elevator by two women, including the co-executive director of the Center for Popular Democracy, a George Soros-financed organization.
Flake said on Sixty Minutes that he could never have pulled off the stall tactic if he was running for re-election. Flake quit his bid for re-election in 2018 after voters in Arizona turned on Flake for his refusal to consistently support President Trump.

Here is Flake at an Atlantic magazine event calling Kavanaugh “partisan.”
Flake said of Kavanaugh’s supposed partisanship that “we can’t have this on the Court. We simply can’t.”
Democrat Senator Chris Coons also attended the “Atlantic Festival” after first appearing with Flake on Sixty Minutes.
Sen. @JeffFlake on Judge #Kavanaugh: "The interaction with the members was sharp and partisan and that concerns me. And I tell myself you give a little leeway because of what he's been through. But, on the other hand, we can't have this on the Court. We simply can't." pic.twitter.com/0horDp9iGn
