FLORIDA: Andrew Gillum Caught Red-Handed Lying About Gifts From An FBI Agent

Since securing his spot on the ballot for governor in Florida against Republican former Rep. Ron DeSantis, Democrat Andrew Gillum has been facing scrutiny for accepting lavish gifts from shady sources.

At the forefront are a set of “Hamilton” tickets given to Gillum during a 2016 trip to New York City.

In a September 4th press release, Gillum contends that his brother Marcus gave him the tickets.

“After the trip, Mayor Gillum learned Marcus Gillum had obtained that ticket in a swap with Adam Corey for a concert ticket,” the press release said.

But newly released text messages between Gillum and former lobbyist Adam Corey show that to be untrue.

Instead, it shows that the tickets come from “Mike Miller,” an FBI agent posing as a developer looking into city corruption.

“Mike Miller and the crew have tickets for us for Hamilton tonight at 8 p.m.,” Corey texted Gillum on Aug. 10, 2016.

In response, Gillum acknowledges the tickets, saying “Awesome news about Hamilton.”

This seems to be solid proof that the September press release is untrue. And it also vindicates DeSantis, who has gone after Gillum for the tickets.

In a debate, DeSantis directly asked Gillum “Did you pay for the Hamilton tickets?”

Instead of answering the question, Gillum launched into a tirade about him being a “grown man” who can pay for his own vacations.

“First of all, I am a grown man,” Gillum replied. “My wife and I take vacations and we pay for our own vacations … I don’t take free trips from anybody. I’m a hard-working person, I know that may not fit your description of what you think people like me do, but I’ve worked hard for everything that I’ve gotten in my life.”

It is unclear if any criminal activity took place. But it is creating questions about Gillum’s character.

Currently Gillum has a slight lead over DeSantis in a race that will be decided on November 6th.
