Warner Bros. Hires Disgraced Director Who Was Fired For Pedophilia Laden Tweets

Warner Bros. has just confirmed disgraced “Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn is now in talks to write “Suicide Squad 2” for DC and possibly direct the next installment of the comic book-turned film franchise.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” director James Gunn made headlines in July after numerous offensive tweets were uncovered on his Twitter page, with topics including rape and pedophilia. The tweets that have resurfaced from Gunn’s account give a glimpse into the mind of this demented and deranged filmmaker. Gunn made a feeble attempt to explain his tweets away as jokes, but his tweets are anything but funny.

Sick tweets from Gunn including one that read, “The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped it’s like ‘Whew, this feels great, not being raped!’”

Other tweets authored by Gunn that he has since deleted also mentioned sexual acts with children, people who have AIDS, and a few that mentioned urinating on children.

Gunn wrote and directed Disney films “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and is credited as an executive producer on “Avengers: Infinity War”, and also written “Scooby-Doo”, “The Belko Experiment”, “Movie 43” and “Dawn of the Dead”.

Disney released a statement shortly after the pedophilia-laced tweets resurfaced where they explained Gunn would not be returning to work on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn released the following statement:

“The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

After several supporters and defenders of James Gunn spoke out on Twitter and other social media platforms, a signed letter that DEMANDS he’s hired back on for the third installment of “Guardians of the Galaxy” by Disney and Marvel Studios made the rounds.

Actor Chris Pratt took the lead in the demands that Gunn be reinstated, but the entire cast of the series including, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana and Pom Klementieff, who also tweeted the letter out on her Twitter page, have banded together to show their support for the shamed director. Chris Pratt posted the same letter, signed by the cast on his Instagram page with the same caption as Pom’s. Either they have the exact same thoughts, or they have the exact same instructions to tweet/post the same captions on all their social media posts. I’m guessing it’s the latter. Really makes one wonder who’s calling the shots with their PR firm.

What makes this even more strange is that Gunn was fired from Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”, and now moved to their direct rival, DC Entertainment. There has always been a struggle between Marvel and DC, so this creates an entirely new chapter in the world of comics.

Gunn is taking a new approach to the movie, and Suicide Squad 2 will not considered a sequel. The first “Suicide Squad,” starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie, raked in nearly $750 million worldwide on a $175 million budget before advertising and promotion for the film.

The upcoming Suicide Squad movie is produced by Peter Safran and is yet to have a release date.
