WATCH: Elizabeth Warren Stumped by Ethics Complaint Filed Against Her for Fundraising Off Kavanaugh Hearings

A U.S. Senator from Massachusetts was stumped during a debate with her Republican challenger when he brought up ethics complaints filed against her for grifting to raise money off of the hostile treatment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearings.

“One other thing we found out recently that I think is really unconscionable was the fact that Senator Warren was fundraising illegally using the vote on Justice Kavanaugh – the confirmation vote – to try to raise money for her campaign,” said State Rep. Geoff Diehl in a debate against Sen. Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren (D-Mass.).

Diehl and Warren are duking it out for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Warren.

“That’s something that we should not be doing, first of all, when we are having a national discussion about the Supreme Court – trying to fundraise off it – but you did, and it turns out it’s illegal,” Diehl continued.

Warren attempted to dodge the point by accusing Diehl of not condemning President Donald J. Trump’s rhetoric about Kavanaugh’s accuser. But the debate moderators stepped in and forced her to answer to the claim levied by Diehl.

“Isn’t there an ethics committee complaint?” one of the moderators asked. Another moderator confirmed the existence of the complaint, and Warren cluelessly denied any knowledge of the complaint.

“I will check into it, but I don’t know,” Warren said before blankly staring at the moderators in silence.
