SCARE TACTICS: ND Dems Run False Ad “Warning” Hunters They May Lose Their License If They Vote

President of American Commitment and former vice president of Americans for Prosperity, Phil Kerpen, caught an ad on Facebook using scare tactics to keep hunters in North Dakota from showing up at the polls.

In a thread on Twitter by Phil Kerpen (@kerpen), he points out the desperation of the Democrats along with a screenshot of the ad:

“This is a straight up voter suppression tactic. This is the North Dakota Democratic Party running blatantly false ads to scare hunters out of voting.

“I mean, I still think putting the names and locations of sexual abuse survivors in a political ad without their permission is by far the worst thing she’s done. But this is bad.”

“Are the other fake conservadems OK with this? Somebody should ask Tester, McCaskill, Donnelly, Manchin about Democratic Party ads to scare hunters out of voting.”

The ad, which was paid for and authorized by the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party reads:

“ATTENTION HUNTERS: If you vote in North Dakota, you may forfeit hunting licenses you have in other states. If you want to keep your out-of-state hunting licenses, you may not want to vote in North Dakota. Learn more: bit.ly/2OlybPM

Facebook keeps a searchable database of all political ads that run on their platform, and this ad was not particularly difficult to find and verify.

If you clink on the link in the ad, it will take you to a landing page on the North Democratic Party’s website which contains the following message:

“By voting in North Dakota, you could forfeit your hunting licenses. You MUST be a resident of North Dakota to vote here. And if you are a resident of North Dakota, you may lose hunting licenses you have in other states. If you want to keep your out-of-state hunting licenses, you may not want to vote in North Dakota’s 2018 election.”

The ad is a promotion for a Facebook Page titled “Hunter Alert,” though currently only logos exist, with a few random reviews and three likes.
