Report: Trump to Immediately Withdraw Troops from Syria
According to multiple Wednesday morning reports, President Donald J. Trump will immediately withdraw all troops from Syria.
“The Trump administration is planning to pull all U.S. troops out of Syria, a defense official said on Wednesday, as President Trump declared victory against the Islamic State,” said Washington Post.
Trump used his Twitter account to make an official announcement just hours after several news outlets reported the withdrawal.
“We have defeated ISIS in Syria, my only reason for being there during the Trump Presidency,” Trump said.

According to the reports, there are more than 2,000 American troops in Syria.
Trump is making good on his promise to remove American troops from the Middle East quagmire, which has lasted for 17 years with no clear end in sight, and no metrics by which to measure success or failure.
There are still thousands of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.
