Joe Scarborough Sides with Nancy Pelosi: Wall 'Immoral' #GreatAwakening

When it comes to having a spokesman for Trump-Hater Nation, Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and the rest of the loony left must be thrilled. In Joe Scarborough, they have someone who gets three hours of TV time every weekday morning to beam Trump hatred to the masses.  Doing his bit on today's Morning Joe, Scarborough sided with Pelosi in proclaiming the wall "immoral."

After Scarborough claimed that "no one is saying that any wall is insane," John Podhoretz pointed out: "Pelosi did say that walls are immoral."

Replied Scarborough:

"Donald Trump's view of a huge, beautiful wall from sea to shining sea is not only immoral, more importantly, it's stupid."

Mika Brzezinski, using a phrase way past its sell-by date, interjected that a wall "is not who we are."

It should be noted that Trump is not calling for a wall to be built "from sea to shining sea." To the contrary, as no less than the Trump-averse Associated Press has reported [emphasis added]:

Trump: "We do not need 2,000 miles of concrete wall from sea to shining sea. We never did. We never proposed that. We never wanted that, because we have barriers at the border where natural structures are as good as anything that we can build.”

"Regarding the wall’s length, Trump has noted as far back as 2015 that it need not run 2,000 miles, because natural barriers would account for some of the border distance. And former Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly told lawmakers in 2017 that it would not be 'from sea to shining sea.'”

Whereas Trump is not calling for a wall "from sea to shining sea," Pelosi has indeed called the wall "immoral," though some on the left try to deny it. On Scarborough's own NBC parent network, Pelosi told Chuck Todd on Meet the Press:

“The wall is, in my view, immoral, expensive, unwise."

Note: Rush Limbaugh is understandably drivenup a wall, excuse the pun, by liberals frequent use of the "not who we are, not our values" trope. It's become a joke in my home, too. When Bundi the Vizsla does something untoward, I will tell him, "that's not who we are. Those aren't our values." But he doesn't listen.

Here's the transcript:

MSNBC
Morning Joe
2/1/19
6:10 am ET

JOE SCARBOROUGH: John, nobody is saying that any wall is insane.

JOHN PODHORETZ: Pelosi did say that walls are immoral, right? She handed him that. That was an unforced error.

JOE: Donald Trump's view of a huge, beautiful wall from sea to shining sea is not only immoral, more importantly, it's stupid, and it's ineffective. And if you talk to anybody on the border, they will tell you that it's stupid, and it's ineffective.

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: It's not who we are.
