CNN Reporter Suggests YouTube Bears Culpability, Should Have Censored More #Political

Despite the fact that Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, TikTok and even Shopify have all censored President Donald Trump, that still isn’t enough for some in the media.

At least one media member in particular, CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan suggested YouTube also bears some culpability and that it should have censored more prior to the election.

“Under-reported in social media's culpability. YouTube. This is from just a few weeks before the election,” O’Sullivan said, retweeting one of his own tweets from fall 2020. O’Sullivan said in the Oct. 16 tweet: “How good is YouTube’s QAnon crackdown going? A QAnon conference streamed live all day Saturday on YouTube. At one point when I clicked the stream YouTube was showing an ad over the video for Senate Republicans. @NRSC.”

O’Sullivan went on to say in a thread: “The way YouTube ads work mean advertisers often don't know what kind of videos their ads are showing up next to.”

Of course, it is not entirely surprising that the left called for more censorship immediately after Big Tech companies bowed down and banned Trump. After all, 120 prominent leftists called for Trump to be removed from Twitter and finally got their wish. Even the free speech app Parler was purged from Apple and Google’s app stores, and even totally removed from Amazon’s servers.

YouTube battled what it deemed to be “misinformation” prior to the election. “It’s against our policies for any advertiser to make a false claim—whether it's a claim about the price of a chair or a claim that you can vote by text message, that election day is postponed, or that a candidate has died,” the company said in a blog post. YouTube had also removed over three hundred ads from Trump’s reelection campaign over the Summer of 2019 alone.

Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us at the Media Research Center contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
