September 28 was globally recognized as “International Safe Abortion Day.” Unfortunately, many people praised and celebrated the occasion but others used the opportunity to point out what, at this point, should be obvious: abortion is never safe. The day of recognition marks the anniversary of September 28, 1990, when abortion was decriminalized across Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2011, the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights declared the 28th as the international day. Funnily enough, the World Health Organization promoted the day this year. It’s ironic that a legitimate and leading health organization posted in honor of something that is completely antithetical to the word "health." You can’t be healthy if you’re dead, and successful abortions kill at least one individual every time. How is that “health”? Nonetheless, the WHO said, “Abortion care is health care, and health is a human right” on its website. WHO also promoted an exhibition set-up for September 25 - 30 at the United Nations at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland to promote “access to safe abortion care for the health and rights of women and girls.” WHO wasn’t the only group to promote this detestable “holiday.” The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Humanist shared pieces honoring the day, along with other outlets from across the globe including the African News, France 24, EuObserver, The Japan Times and even the Tasmanian Times. The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau said the following in a statement: Today, on International Safe Abortion Day, the Government of Canada reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ensuring that women and girls here at home and around the world have access to abortion. We will never put a woman’s right to choose up for debate. Trudeau also pledged that he’d work to “create a world where people can make their own choices that shape their future” - a.k.a., kill their kids if they so desire. Seems like a nice dude. Twitter accounts from across the globe posted graphics and statements supporting abortion on demand at any point. But luckily, there were some negative responses to this day celebrating innocent baby death. Students for Life President Kristan Hawkins posted, “They do realize a successful abortion always ends in the death of a living and unique human being, right?” In response users said, “the abortion industry is dependent on lies. And young women are shielded from learning this,” and “abortion certainly isn’t safe for the baby being aborted.” In a reply to Representative Grace Meng (D-N.Y.), who celebrated the day, a user wrote, “No such thing as a 'safe abortion' because in every abortion someone dies.” These people are right. Abortion is not, nor will it ever, be safe. In addition to killing a baby, it puts mothers through emotional trauma and distress and puts their lives in great danger. Just last week, a family sued a Las Vegas hospital after a 24-year-old mother died from abortion complications. The fact of the matter is that the abortion industry is built on and fueled by lies. This is a ponzi scheme to keep women vulnerable, keep populations down, and keep places like Planned Parenthood funded. “International Safe Abortion Day” is the most outrageous lie I’ve heard all day!from Newsbusters - Welcome to NewsBusters, a project of the Media Research Center (MRC), America’s leading media watchdog in documenting, exposing Follow News Busters
